BML Monday: Ruining Snow White

… Talkback: why BREC is off base

Don’t let the story get in the way of your social agenda…and Disney doesn’t. The new Snow White movie does its best to change the story to fit current sensibilities. Never mind the story is well known for generations, it must change because the Mouse demands it. Snow White is IN A HANDBASKET this morning.

Money talks and maybe Bud Light is the best recent example. Can those who claim to be the best at education learn from talking and walking money? My guess is no, but voices and dollars are being heard in many ways around the country. Arizona State serves as our example.

Friday we discussed the ignorant move by the Brevard Republican Executive Committee advocating for big government getting involved in our personal medical decisions. A Talkback call from that show gives us insight on the inmates running the BREC asylum. An email from Brevard Democrats shows us what a properly engaged party actually does. BREC has some learnin’ to do.

The newly released Brevard County budget shows the tax cap is not being violated even as the budget grows. It also shows us that Johnus Disgustus Tobia’s political stunt with the Constitutional Officers was a not-veiled-at-all campaign tactic involving his colluding or ignorant fellow commissioners.

Those stories and more are in play for the start of this week’s conversation on BML.

BML Tuesday: DeSantis and Trump

DAVE DOES HISTORY

Tuesday begins in the classroom. IN A HANDBASKET we’ll look at a college professor’s contention that gender is not binary, claiming there can be no debate about it.Apparently she’s not paying attention to the world outside of her education utopia.

It seems the University of Florida is ignoring law and lying to the governor and the rest of us.

For his part, the governor continues hitting hot button issues on the presidential campaign trail. He says he’ll “rip” the wokeness out of the military in short order.President Trump says if he’s reelected to the job he would end the conflict in Ukraine in a day.

Dave Bowman is back in our final hour today as we take a look at “that guy” of the constitutional convention. You know the one, the guy who at the end of the meeting always has those questions that keep you there long after everyone is ready to go home. We close our day with DAVE DOES HISTORY on this Tuesday edition of BML.

BML: WIDE OPEN WEDNESDAY

…should we cancel Elvis?

Country music star Luke Combs is being called a white supremacist for covering Tracy Chapman’s song FAST CAR. There have been multiple hits though the years that have become hits again by other artists. Could there be any greater honor than another artist picking up your hit and reviving it for a new generation of fans? Well, apparently not if you are a straight, white man and the original artist is a gay, black woman. If this is the standard the King of Rock and Roll is on his way to cancellation.

Taco Bell must be the king of marketing and manipulation.Taco Tuesday was a trademark the giant taco tosser wanted to us. But wait!Another, smaller restaurant owned the phrase. The key word there is OWNED.

President Trump says he’s about to be indicted and arrested again. Vivek Ramaswamy says the president’s actions on January 6th were wrong, but not criminal. Ron DeSantis has released his plan for the military and ending wokeness in its ranks. He also took on the mainstream media during an interview on CNN.

But today’s show is about you and what’s on your mind. It’s WIDE OPEN WEDNESDAY. What’s on your mind?

BML Thursday: Old Trump- New Tricks

…Small Town Politics

Frank in Grant called yesterday to share his take on CMT banning Jason Aldean’s song about small town America. The controversy hasn’t stopped and folks are stepping up to defend Middle America. We’ll take a look IN A HANDBASKET this morning.

The unknown whistleblower has been identified and testified in front of congress yesterday. If accurate, the testimony shows extreme problems in our government that must be addressed. Will it be President Trump to initiate those changes? He’s the frontrunner for the Republican nomination and he’s changing his tune with voters and how they vote this time out.

Florida has established new rules for gender related topics in education. It’s not without its detractors, mostly from within the education establishment. That world doesn’t like outsiders telling it what to do. That’s too bad.

A man identified as an AI prodigy says China is leading the way and that’s a dangerous thing for the world. Is weaponizing of AI wise, or is it essential?

BML Friday: Cocaine Shark (do-do-do-ta-do)

…Engineer Pronouns

We’ll bounce around some on today’s show. We’ll start with engineer humor and pronouns (we’ll try to talk slowly so the engineers can keep up). We’ll take a look at the Women’s World Cup and realize we just don’t care. Another COVID win is in the books. How do conservative candidates win? We’ll see what one commentator says about that.

We also have stories about education, AI and 2nd amendment issues in Florida.

And, as if sharks aren’t dangerous enough on their own, do we have to add cocaine to the mix?

Welcome to a Friday on BML.
