Central Florida Couple Sues Company Over Titanic Voyage Fraud Claims

(Winter Park, FL) -- A Central Florida couple is suing the company that owns the missing vessel used to explore the Titanic wreckage. Marc and Sharon Hagle from Orange County filed a lawsuit several months ago against the CEO of OceanGate in connection to fraud allegations. The couple claims they invested up to two-hundred-thousand dollars to go on the vessel in 2018 and were knowingly strung along until the trip was ultimately canceled. The legal battle comes as the U.S. Coast Guard continues to search for the company's vessel after it vanished on Sunday with five people onboard.

Report Finds Worrell's Office Drops Almost Half Of Felony Charges Against Minors

(Orlando, FL)-- Minors who face felony charges in Orange and Osceola counties are more likely to have those charges dropped than anywhere else in Florida. That's the finding of a report released this week by the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice. It found that Ninth Judicial Circuit State Attorney Monique Worrell drops more than 40 percent of felony charges against minors. That's more than any other prosecutor, and it's almost twice the state average. The DJJ says not prosecuting serious offenses fails to deter future offending, and it deprives youth of the opportunity to receive successful interventions.Worrell's spokesperson tells the Orlando Sentinel the DJJ didn't give them a copy of the report, so they can't verify the data.   

Volusia County Man Arrested For Molesting Teen

(Bunnell, FL)-- A Volusia County man is accused of molesting a teenager. The Flagler County Sheriff's Office says deputies arrested Daytona Beach's Daniel Rodriguez on Monday. The 25-year-old allegedly groomed and molested the boy for over two years. The alleged incidents stopped a year ago, and the teen came forward last month.Deputies tell News 6 the teen's mom called Rodriguez, and he confessed.    

Luna's Schiff Censure Resolution Passes House

(Washington, DC)-- A Tampa Bay congresswoman can celebrate a legislative victory.Thirteenth District Republican Anna Paulina Luna sponsored a measure to censure House Democrat Adam Schiff, and it passed yesterday, 213-to-209. The measure accuses Schiff of pushing what she calls baseless distortions about Donald Trump's alleged ties to Russia while Schiff was on the House Intel Committee.Schiff will be referred for investigation to the House Ethics Committee.

Brightline Celebrates Construction Of Orlando-Miami Rail Line

(Orlando, FL) -- Brightline President Patrick Goddard was in Orlando yesterday to mark the end of construction on the rail line connecting Orlando and Miami. Once service starts September 1st, passengers will be able to get from one city to the other in just three hours. Tickets are on sale starting at 79-dollars for adults and 39-dollars for children.

Married Coaches Involved In Scandal

(Nacogdoches, TX)-- An assistant bowling coach at Steven F. Austin State University, who is accused of having an affair with a player, is stepping down. Steve Lemke, who is married to the school's head coach, was given a choice to quit or be forced out. The pair are now going through a divorce. Lemke defended the affair, telling the Lufkin Daily News that the relationship was consensual and is being blown out of proportion because of the team's two national championships.
