BML: WIDE OPEN WEDNESDAY

There are those who will tell us that the prosecution of Donald Trump shows that the law applies to everyone, no matter who they are. That is how it should be. The reality is something completely different. The Clintons, the Bidens and other power players are glaring examples that there is no equal justice under the law. The president’s drug abusing, whoremongering, law breaking son just inked a sweetheart deal with federal prosecutors that will all but eliminate penalties for his criminal acts. Normally a federal plea deal requires full cooperation on any criminal matter in which the defendant was involved. Will this deal require the same? I’m guessing not.

I imagine the Hunter Biden story will have much of our attention on this WIDE OPEN WEDNESDAY.It should. There are other things that may grab our interest. IN A HANDBASKET we’ll see that Anheuser-Busch is trying to recapture its core consumers. Can it? Not without stoking the ire of the Alphabet mafia that demands complete obedience to its dictates. There is no win for Bud Light in its self-generated torment.

Elsewhere, the D-33’s threat to the Brevard Zoo was carried out by the governor’s veto of funds for the proposed aquarium. Petty politics are the rule of the day in D-33. The College Board cares not for obeying Florida law and will not consider changes to AP courses it offers. That could generate in interesting battle for our classrooms and a campaign highlight for Ron DeSantis. The state is fighting a lawsuit over felon voting restoration and the Brevard County Commission is being used by one commissioner as a pawn in a political game that none of the commission is equipped to play,.

It’s WIDE OPEN WEDNESDAY.What’s on YOUR mind?
