Feds Drop Fraud Charges Against Andrew Gillum

(Tallahassee, FL) -- Federal prosecutors are dropping all remaining fraud charges against former candidate for Florida governor Andrew Gillum. The former Tallahassee mayor and his longtime advisor Sharon Lettman-Hicks were accused of illegally directing 2018 campaign contributions into their personal accounts.A jury found him not guilty of lying to FBI agents, but they deadlocked on 18 counts of fraud. Gillum's attorneys say their client has endured a lot over the past few years and can resume his public service.

DeSantis Signs Three Bills Ending DEI Programs At Colleges

(Sarasota, FL) -- Governor Ron DeSantis says DEI programs are coming to an end in Florida. The governor was at New College of Florida in Sarasota yesterday and signed three bills into law. One of the measures limits Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programs at colleges and universities. Another bans public funding for these initiatives, including DEI or Critical Race Theory-based curriculum. Those who oppose the legislation have called the move a total censorship of education.The laws will officially take effect in July.

Volusia County Parents Warns Of Attempted Kidnapping

(Daytona Beach, FL)-- A search is underway in Volusia County to find an attempted kidnapper.Daytona Beach Police are looking for a woman who allegedly tried to kidnap a child Sunday. The child's mother says she was walking with her six-year-old daughter on North Halifax Ave when the woman grabbed the child. The mother was able to stop the woman, who ran away. Police describe the woman as black, light-skinned, thin, between 25 and 35, about five-foot-seven, and she was wearing a gray t-shirt and a long red skirt.The girl's father tells Channel 9 he wants the woman to turn herself in and get some help.

Two Men Wanted For Beating In Brevard County

(Cocoa Beach, FL)-- Two men are wanted for an attack in Brevard County. The sheriff's office says three men punched and kicked a man Friday at Graham's Beach Grill in Cocoa Beach on North Atlantic Ave.Thomas Busby was arrested Sunday for attempted second-degree murder, but Regginald Jones and Jermaine Simpson are on the loose. The alleged victim survived, but deputies say he has significant head injuries.Investigators have not revealed a possible motive.     

Deputies Find Cocaine In Fake Pregnancy Belly

(Anderson County, SC)-- Authorities in South Carolina say a woman was recently arrested for hiding drugs in a fake pregnancy belly. Deputies found over 15-hundred grams of cocaine inside a rubber pregnancy belly after conducting a traffic stop in Anderson County. The woman and man inside the car allegedly tipped off officers after giving conflicting information about the woman's supposed due date. As she fled, drugs began to fall from the rubber stomach, leading to the pair to be charged for trafficking cocaine.

Man Tries To Get Out Of DUI By Switching Seats With Dog

(Springfield, CO) -- A Colorado man reportedly tried to blame his dog to get out of a DUI arrest last weekend. Police in Springfield say the man was pulled over for speeding, but as the officer approached his vehicle, the man got out of the passenger side and claimed he wasn't driving. .Authorities said the man tried to run away after the officer asked if he had been drinking, but was arrested a short time later.
