BML Thursday: Blaming Jesus

A juror in the Andrew Gillum trial has caused concern. Selfies and social media just could not be ignored by one juror who posted a photo and her hopes to reach a verdict after the case was given to the jury.

Also in the criminal justice world, a case dropped by the State Attorney’s office makes you wonder about the prosecutor’s office, the reporting or both.

Palm Bay Mayor Rob Medina is a man of faith. I have no doubt of that. And if you are a person of faith, it guides your life, or it should. I get that. I appreciate it, but is it also the excuse for your behavior? There are times one needs to own his actions and the mayor missed out on an opportunity to do just that as he chose instead to blame Jesus. When you make a solid political move that accomplishes your goal, own it, point it out and if you want to say you prayed about it, fine. But to divert responsibility for your actions, you’ll need to lay it on someone other than the Lord!

The legislature has been busy this week. They've reached consensus on a budget, passed a reality based bathroom bill, a ban on DEI in Florida universities and more.

Oklahoma has taken a strong anti-ESG stance banning 13 banks from operating in their state. New York, on the other end of the common sense scale, has banned gas stoves.

We’ll begin our day with one Brevard school IN A HANDBASKET with an accusation that a middle school teacher has been involved in a student “fight club.” Apparently, they didn’t get the first rule of Fight Club!
