Man Credits Times Square Billboard For New Kidney

(Great Neck, NY) --The search is over for a New York TV executive who five years ago, put up a billboard in Times Square in his search for a new kidney. Fifty-eight-year-old cancer survivor Marc Weiner [[ WINE-er ]] is now recovering from transplant surgery at his home on Long Island.  Weiner calls that billboard made possible by his wife's employer, a life-saver. Hundreds of applicants responded to be potential donors, including an NYPD detective and a woman. It turned out they weren't a match for Weiner but were for two other kidney patients. Weiner says it was those two donations that gave him what he calls "the golden ticket" and allowed him to get a kidney through a donor swap program.
