Here’s a recap of the week…

BML Monday: Too Little, Too Late?

…what took so long?

At long last, after stumbling all over itself, Anheuser-Busch has taken some action regarding the marketing blunder of the decade. Bud Light’s marketing VP is on leave and it’s likely terminal. It should be. Can the beer giant recover from the lack of awareness exhibited over the last month? Will America forgive AB for the nationwide insult? Can this be the tipping point in the battle over the Trans-Agenda? And what about Grills? How is our backyard eatery getting national attention over this issue? By standing up for something, that’s how.

A Florida blogger finds himself in the midst of political scandal and he’s been ordered by a judge to turn over his records, including what he was paid and by whom. Bill Maher has some First Amendment awards to hand out and I have to agree with him.

Keith in Palm Bay mentioned a student walkout on Friday’s show. It happened in Palm Bay. We’ll see what that was all about.

Texas farmers recently experienced strange cattle mutilations. How was this pulled off? And, we’ll open our day with a Coast to Coast-like topic: UFOs in a war zone.

BML Tuesday: Words, Academics & Newsmen

…Grills Owner Joe Penovich

In today’s 8am hour Joe Penovich, the owner of Grills, will join us to talk about being thrust into the Bud Light/Dylan Mulvaney controversy and how he is addressing it. It’s a lesson in applying a dignified response to a volatile situation. Social media activists lit this fire. Joe’s taken the role of fireman.

Our day is dominated by words. Communication is key in any situation and words are important. So are facts. You’d think educators would get that, but that also requires ethics and it appears we have an academic epidemic when it comes to an ethics deficiency. That academic epidemic is IN A HANDBASKET this morning.

Staying with words, a blogger has been ordered to give up his records in a court case about dirty politics. It sounds good, but is it?

On the heels of Tucker Carlson being ousted at Fox we got news that Don Lemon faced the same fate at CNN. Fox is paying the price in Fox Nation subscriptions and likely viewership. CNN may just enhance its audience.

BML Wide Open Wednesday

…what’s on your mind?

If left to my own devices today I’ll begin with education and end with religion. On the education front we find a Washington State school district IN A HANDBASKET along with Vermont and Michigan making their own contributions.

Government gets in on the act as the Father of Florida’s MSD school safety law has an idea for school security on a national level.

A bit of good education news has the Hernando County Superintendent pulling out of the running for the Brevard job. The Melbourne Fire Department is investigating one officer for something we called humor when Hogan’s Heroes was on the air.

Fox News took a ratings hit with Tucker Carlson’s exit. Bud Light is experiencing something similar as its competitors are picking up what Bud Light is dropping in sales.

A pair of recent columns put religion in focus. Pick a faith, any faith. If it’s legitimate, moral conduct and respect for our fellow man are an integral part of it.America is drifting from those simple truths. It’s time to turn that around.

BML Thursday: Losing Our Religion?

…schools, media, church

Grills owner Joe Penovich was with us earlier this week. He mentioned his faith as the driving force behind his actions in life. Is America losing that? It seems so.I am not trying to convert anyone here, but today, let’s take a look at the impact of religion on our society. Would we not be better off if those principles were applied in all aspects of our lives?

The State Ethics Commission has found probable cause that the D-33 Rep acted unethically in dealings with West Melbourne. Anybody surprised?

We’ll begin our day in a Vermont school where the words boy and girl are out. Fighting such nonsense is Moms for Liberty and they are driving the message home and some in media have no idea what to say to that. The president knows what to say to media. He’s tipped off on questions that are coming. Is media now state run?

We remain a divided country. A new survey shows that even the most simple of things are mired in controversy.

BML Friday: A Troubling Survey

…Rep. Tyler Sirois

We talked a good bit about religion on yesterday’s show. America needs that foundation for our society to thrive. As is often the case, after that discussion yesterday I was made aware of a related situation that raises questions. We’ll hit it after our IN A HANDBASKET segment this morning.

We have more details of the bullet we dodged in not having the Hernando County Superintendent of Schools as a finalist for Brevard.

We remain a divided country and if a recent Fox News poll is any indication, it’s going to stay that way.

In today’s final hour, Representative Tyler Sirois joins us as the 2023 legislative session is about to draw to a close.
