Here’s a recap of the week…

BML Monday: Personal Freedoms Circling the Drain

…mob rule

Riley Gaines is the former UK swimmer who dared (and still does) to speak out on transletes competing against actual women. While speaking at San Francisco State last week Gaines was attacked and battered. They can’t silence her and she’s refuting the university’s claim it was a “peaceful” protest.

Budweiser’s had to cancel an event featuring the Clydesdales over the brand’s refusal to get that the trans-sponsorship that came to light last week is causing concerns. Nike, after embracing the same trans-influencer, is telling us to be kind and inclusive. I think we would if they weren’t trying to tell us guys wearing bras is normal.

Is TESLA spying on you? It would seem so. While not the intent of the company, some employees are taking advantage of the vehicles’ onboard cameras to steal parts of owner’s lives.

A federal appeals court has ruled against individual religious freedom and in favor of school policy when it comes to addressing confused children.

All of these stories leave me questioning what is happening to our freedoms when illusions are expected to be taken for reality.

BML Tuesday: Dave’s Back!

…DAVE DOES HISTORY

Dave Bowman returns at 8am with DAVE DOES HISTORY after a brief absence from our Tuesdays. Having served in the Navy’s submarine fleet, Dave treasures the history of that fleet. Today he takes us to a tragic day for one sub: Yesterday, April 10, 1963, the countries newest and most technologically advanced nuclear submarine, vanished will all hands off the coast of New England. One hundred and twenty nine souls went to the depths that day, and now, sixty years later, we still do not know what actually happened.

Before we go there we’ll open the day on the roads with what’s being called “racist traffic enforcement. "There's a simple solution to this one.

Apparently it’s us dumb hicks and others in the South that are all upset over Bud Light’s LGBT advertising. The brewer’s distributors are worried. One Volusia lawmaker says such folks are like mutants. That’s getting some attention, and maybe he’s chosen some harsh words, but is he wrong? When even left leaning media notes the problems they are vilified for having any sense of reality.

And after the Louisville bank shooting President Biden has the answer. It’s the Republicans’ fault.

BML: WIDE OPEN WEDNESDAY

…Portland, San Fran, MD & Brevard

It’s the one day each week where you may bring any topic to our conversation. Your call could be the spark for us all. Bring your idea to the table at 321-768-1240.

Here are the topics grabbing my attention this morning:

Crime in blue states and cities. San Francisco State’s reaction to Riley Gaines. A Maryland school district not allowing for parents to opt their kids out of the LGBT agenda. A judge ruling teachers must partake and participate in DEI initiatives. Sheriff Ivey’s political influence and the WHEEL OF FUGITIVE suit. Brevard Schools’ book review policy.

You may pick one those or bring your own to the discussion on this WIDE OPEN WEDNESDAY.

BML Thursday: Man vs Man vs AI

…Florida Today’s John Torres takes on AI

Sometimes the message is loud. Sometimes it’s expensive.  For Anheuser-Busch it’s both. The beer company was loud and proud in its partnership with Dylan Mulvaney. America’s been outraged by it and Bud’s target audience has responded, as have investors. On the upside, REAL women are speaking out and making the point.

Twitter is making changes and has high aims. I hope it’s successful. NPR, on the other hand, is in a snit over Twitter labeling it “government funded media,” which it is.

Brevard’s school board has set some new policies when it comes to book reviews and cell phone use in schools. It appears to be taking steps in the right direction.

Governor DeSantis is clearly exploring a run for President, but it is wise at this time? An Orlando Sentinel report explores the idea.

Florida Today’s John Torres joins us at 8am. He’ll share with us his experience taking on ChatGPT in a writing competition. He also shares the latest on Crosley Green who’s over 30 years in prison for a crime it appears he did not commit is not enough for Phil Archer’s State Attorney’s office.

BML Friday: LGBT Lessons & D-33?

…Rep. Tyler Sirois at 8am

Why would today be any different? The news around Bud Light’s stupid influencer decision continues. Finally Bud Light has decided to pause its influencer program and take a look at what they have done. Nike, also in the gender idiocy hall of fame, has not stepped up to see the error of its ways, but customers are sending a clear message.

A Texas event has one venue stopping drag performances due to the pervs’ actions with kids.

A drag event billed as a fundraiser for Autism related charities is causing a stir here in Melbourne. It seems D-33’s wife is a host and entertainer for the event that features the Rainbow Circus, a drag troupe. It could be a nothing burger if D-33 wasn’t listed as a sponsor while pushing anti-drag legislation in Tallahassee. Who’s potentially hurt the most here? It’s the autistic kids that could benefit from the generosity of the event’s donors.

Meanwhile, activist groups are urging a travel ban for Florida because of what they call anti-LGBT and immigrant state policies.

Representative Tyler Sirois will join us in our 8am hour. Legislation is moving as the session winds toward the finale in early May.
