Four Dead In Domestic Shooting In Orlando

(Orlando, FL) --Four people are dead after an apparent domestic shooting in Orlando. Police say a gunman shot and killed three people yesterday morning at a home in Parramore. The victims found in the home at Parramore Ave and Grand Street include a seven-year-old, a 13-year-old and a 69-year-old woman. Lacorvis Daley was identified as the shooter. The 28-year-old was killed in a shootout after he allegedly fired at two officers. None of the officers were hurt, but they're now on administrative leave pending an investigation. There's no word on what led to the shooting.

Child Sex Assault Suspect Arrested In Volusia County

(Daytona Beach, FL) --A man described by police as a predator is in custody in Volusia County. Daytona Beach Police arrested Travon Booker on Friday. The 35-year-old cheerleading coach was wanted in Colorado for sexual assault on a child under 18. Police note Booker was arrested across the street from the Ocean Center where a cheerleading competition was being held. He's awaiting extradition to Colorado. 

Suspect In Custody Following Bizarre, Pre-Dawn Robbery In Florida

(DeBary, FL) --A suspect is in custody following a bizarre, pre-dawn police response to a burglary report in Florida's Volusia County. Department sources say officers were called to a local home early Sunday morning, arriving to find 34-year-old Blake Tokman unclothed and coated in grease and peppermint oil, allegedly trying to flee the scene on foot. Efforts to take Tokman into custody reportedly were hampered by his slick skin. After struggling with at least four officers, he was taken into custody before being charged with two counts of occupied burglary, three counts of battery on a law enforcement officer, two counts of criminal mischief, and resisting arrest with violence. A court date in the case is pending.

Man Killed In Police Shooting In Broward County

(Plantation, FL) --A Florida family is grieving the loss of the man killed in a police shooting on Saturday, and claim the cops used excessive force. Homea "Tony" Spencer was killed in Plantation at the Plantation Inn Hotel and Lounge off North SR 7. Plantation Police have not released details about the shooting. Relatives say Spencer was in his 40s, and he leaves behind a wife and two kids. They also tell Local 10 News he had mental health issues, but he was working hard to get his life back on track. 

Two Charged With Elder Abuse In Brevard County

(Titusville, FL) --Two healthcare workers are charged with elder abuse in Brevard County. Sheriff Wayne Ivey on Friday announced the arrests of 20-year-old Shy'Tonia Bishop and 18-year-old Jada Harris. They worked at Market Street Memory Care in Melbourne on Murrell Road. Ivey says they livestreamed themselves yelling at and mocking a dementia patient last week. 

Drivers Cited For High-Speed Racing In Pinellas County

(Clearwater, FL) --If you wanna race, use your feet. That's the message from FHP Tampa after four drivers were caught in high-speed races this weekend. FHP says a BMW 3-series and a Mercedes convertible were racing at 130 miles an hour in a 55 zone on the Gandy bridge. Also, a Mitsubishi Lancer and a Honda Civic were caught racing at a hundred miles an hour in a 55 zone. FHP Tampa Tweets street racing, stunt driving and roadway takeovers are illegal. 

FAU Professor Discusses Trump Support

(Boca Raton, FL) --It's hard to find signs that Donald Trump's criminal charges are affecting his election chances. A poll released Friday shows Trump with a 37-point lead over Governor Ron DeSantis in the 2024 GOP primary. Florida Atlantic University political science professor Kevin Wagner thinks Trump voters are more enthusiastic since the charges were announced. He tells the Sun Sentinel historically voters are turned off by candidates involved in investigations, but Trump is not a typical candidate.

Chapman University Student Gets Class Out of Final By Winning TikTok Challenge

(Orange, CA) --Eighty students in a marketing class at Chapman University in California no longer have to take their final exam after one of their classmates won their professor's social media challenge. The professor told the class he'd cancel the final exam if someone could get at least a million views on a TikTok video. One student won the challenge with a simple three second video. The video shows the inside of the classroom, with the professor's challenge projected on the screen.
