Here’s a recap of the week…

BML Monday: Action & Reaction

…School Board Member Gene Trent

When police adopt the tactics of today’s media we could all be in danger. IN A HANDBASKET we’ll find police in the UK misinforming the public about a suspect. If you were told the bad guy was a woman, what would you expect? Chances are it’s not this!

There’s a move across the country to ban TikTok. There’s also one in congress, but is it what it seems?

Since AI chat bots are increasing popular, they too are facing increased scrutiny. Elon Musk and others are working toward creating bots that are not biased against the right.

President Trump’s indictment certainly caused a stir last week. What else did it cause? Support for his 2024 campaign and the dollars rolled in. The decisions of NYC prosecutors have come under scrutiny after the Trump indictment was announced. One in particular seems really bad.

Brevard Public Schools are in transition. The board hopes to set a new direction for the stumbling district. It’s not without its challenges as the interim superintendent seems to have arrived with problems of his own that are impacting more than the board. Board Member Gene Trent will join us in hour-3 to discuss those issues and the path forward.

BML Tuesday: This Bud’s for…?

…when reality is punished

If you need a trigger warning over material to be covered in your college class, just maybe you are not college material. If you are employed at a state college, maybe you should familiarize yourself with the state’s public records laws. If you are a New York prosecutor, maybe you should look at just who the victim is before making a charging decision.

If you are the leader of the Florida Democratic Party or their Minority Leader in the Senate, maybe you should consider whether your actions help or hurt your credibility. If you’re interested in becoming Brevard’s next Superintendent of Schools, maybe you make the cut today.

And if you’re Budweiser, you may want to consider your core customers before playing in the culture wars. Doing so puts Bud Light’s dumb decision IN A HAND BASKET as we begin our Tuesday on BML.

We had anticipated Dave Bowman’s return with DAVE DOES HISTORY on today’s show, but sadly, Dave is still recovering from his surgery a couple of weeks ago. We’ll look for Dave’s return as soon as next week.

BML: WIDE OPEN WEDNESDAY

…diversity, AI & insurrection

Today, you take us where you like when you call the show. Any topic, any time, it’s up to you.

For my part, how will NASA having “diversity champions” help mankind…and should that not be humankind? There are risks associated with artificial intelligence…like being falsely accused of something with AI generated fake news stories to prove it and more. After the Nashville school shooting there were protests in the state capitol. Now, three legislators could be expelled for participating.

Closer to home President Trump returned from his arraignment to a welcoming crowd and addressed the situation in Trump fashion. Opposition research is out on Governor Ron DeSantis ahead of any potential presidential run and it’s about what you’d expect- not entirely factual. The Brevard school board has selected 11 finalists for the superintendent’s job. They should make a decision in a month or so.

So, what’s it going to be? What has you thinking and talking this morning?

BML Thursday: Conflict- It Hurts So Good

…DeSantis Opposition Research

It seems we love conflict. It’s there at every turn. Name the topic and the conflict begins. Do we enjoy it? Is it our nature, or are we just so dug in on every issue that there is no resolution to be had?

Yet another advertiser finds itself IN A HANDBASKET today as Nike has decided that a dude advertising sports bras and leggings should be a thing.

In addition to California Governor Gavin Newsom coming to Florida to preach liberalism to our red state, the Golden State is going after my native West Virginia over protecting girls’ sports. I'll take my Mountaineers in this battle.

As for Governor Ron DeSantis, opposition research is out and the plan is to destroy his reputation in any presidential run. With the information they are citing, it could very well backfire on the left.

Twitter has certainly changed since Elon Musk took over. NPR’s in a snit over being labeled “state affiliated media.” The New York Times made Twitter’s radar as a propagandist publication.

The war on cops is getting more dangerous and undercover LA detectives are suing because of it.

These stories are in play for our Thursday conversation on BML.

BML Friday: Supremes, Biden: Turning the World Upside Down

…Representative Tyler Sirois

The attack on women and our kids continues. Both the president and the Supreme Court are in on the act. We’ll start with the decision to force a boy onto a girls’ athletic team in WV and then move into the new Title IX edict from President Biden.

An Orlando teacher has been fired for an assignment tied to active shooter preparation for students. It may be uncomfortable, but was it worthy of taking his job? We’ll let you make the call on this one.

Representative Tyler Sirois will join us at 8am to update us on the legislative session that is at its midpoint.
