Florida Supreme Court Refuses To Block Execution

(Tallahassee, FL) -- The Florida Supreme Court will not block next week's execution of a convicted killer. Justices rejected arguments earlier today that challenged the sentencing of 56-year-old Louis Gaskin. He has been on death row for the murders of a Flagler County couple during a burglary in 1989. Gaskin is scheduled to face lethal injection on April 12th, making him the second Florida inmate to be executed in less than two months.

Six People Arrested In Connection To Home Depot Theft Ring

(Polk County, FL) --Half a dozen people are accused of operating a major theft ring across Florida. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd Gave an update earlier today saying the group stole more than one-million dollars worth of construction equipment from Home Depots in 16 counties. The group reportedly sold at least 60 items through social media. Judd says only ten pieces have been recovered so far. He's asking the community to come forward if they have any information. 

Osceola County Coach Arrested For Sexual Misconduct With Students

(Kissimmee, FL)-- An Osceola County high school coach is facing sex charges involving students. The sheriff's office announced the arrest of Celebration High School baseball coach Samuel Figueroa. Deputies started investigating him last week after a parent of a student accused him of inappropriate behavior. The 43-year-old Figueroa allegedly asked female students for sexual photos, touched two students and made remarks about their bodies. Investigators say they have found several victims between the ages of 15 and 18, and they're asking for more victims to come forward. Figueroa is facing charges that include lewd and lascivious molestation.    

Volusia County Residents Still Waiting For Permits To Rebuild From Hurricanes

(Daytona Beach Shores, FL) --Volusia County residents looking to rebuild from last year's hurricanes are running out of time. Construction on seawalls needs to start by May First before turtle nesting season begins, but many residents are still waiting for the state to approve their construction permits. Daytona Beach Shores Commissioner Richard Bryan met with residents yesterday to discuss their options. One Wilbur-by-the-Sea resident says most of his home fell into the ocean, and he's now living in Naples until he gets his permit approved. He tells News 6 he hopes the county can pressure the state so he can get back to normal. 

 Date Set For Ax-2 Launch

(Cape Canaveral, FL)-- Details are emerging about an upcoming crewed launch to the International Space Station. NASA, SpaceX, Axiom Space and the Saudi Space Commission held a press conference yesterday to discuss the upcoming Ax-2 mission. They announced the launch at Kennedy Space Center will take place no sooner than May 8th at 10:43 p.m. Four astronauts in a Dragon capsule are expected to dock at ISS two days later. While there, they'll spend 12 days working on experiments that could lead to breakthroughs in cancer prevention and treatment. They'll also help Axiom toward its goal of building a commercial space station to replace the ISS by 2030. 

 Man Arrested For Impersonating Police Officer

(Rochester Hills, MI)-- A Michigan man is behind bars for allegedly impersonating law enforcement after pulling over an off-duty police officer. Cops say Christian Mansoor was driving a silver BMW equipped with red and blue lights near Detroit when he pulled over an off-duty Waterford Township police officer. Mansoor was followed by the officer to a mobile home park where deputies found him trying to switch license plates between his cars. He tried to run off but was arrested.

2004, citing no new leads and case overload, San Francisco police deactivated the case of the "Zodiac Killer" after a more than 30 year investigation. The serial killer taunted and terrorized Northern California residents for several years. The "Zodiac Killer" is blamed for committing at least five brazen murders in 1968 and 1969 and sending taunting letters containing zodiac signs to police and newspapers.
