(Daytona Beach, FL) --Two college students are hurt after a shooting in Volusia County. It happened Saturday morning in Daytona Beach near Joe Harris Park on Pearl Street. Police say a woman and a man in their 20s were shot. They were taken to the hospital and are in stable condition. Both attend Bethune-Cookman University. No arrest has been announced, and there's no word on a motive.
Miami Beach Declares State Of Emergency
(Miami Beach, FL) --Miami Beach is trying to keep the peace after a violent weekend. The city yesterday declared a State of Emergency and imposed a curfew. These moves come after two deadly shootings this weekend on Ocean Drive. The more recent shooting was yesterday morning on Ocean Drive near 11th Street. The first was Friday night near Ocean Drive and Seventh Street. The curfew is in effect from midnight to 6 a.m. The city commission will meet today to discuss imposing the curfew next weekend, too.
Arrest Made In Deadly Miami Beach Shooting
(Miami Beach, FL) --A Broward County man is in custody after a deadly shooting in Miami Beach. Fort Lauderdale's Dontavious Polk was arrested for yesterday morning's deadly shooting on Ocean Drive. Police say the 24-year-old confronted the victim walking on the sidewalk, pulled a gun and shot him several times. After the victim fell to the ground, Polk allegedly kept shooting before running from the scene. A Miami-Dade Police officer saw Polk running with gun in hand, chased him, caught him and took him into custody. He's charged with first-degree murder. There's no word on a motive.

A sell-out crowd packed loanDepot Park in Little Havana yesterday to see Cuba play in Miami for the first time ever.Fans chanted anti-communist slogans, and some protesters ran onto the field with pro-democracy banners. Cuban manager Armando Johnson noticed and said he respects everyone's opinion, but he was just there for the baseball. The U.S. beat Cuba, 14-2, to advance to the WBC finals.
Father Allegedly Pulls Gun On His Son's Basketball Coaches
(Baltimore, MD) --A Maryland father is accused of pulling a loaded gun on his son's basketball coaches over the lack of his kid's playing time. It happened at a school in West Baltimore earlier this month. According to charging documents, Troy Spencer told the coaches they better put his son in the game. After a brief struggle, the coaches took the gun from Spencer and he left the school. No one was injured. Spencer is being held without bail on 23 counts including illegally possessing a firearm with a previous felony conviction. Spencer pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in 1997 and wasn't allowed to have a gun. A preliminary hearing is set for next month.
