Gaetz Nominates Trump For House Speaker

(Washington, DC)-- Congressman Matt Gaetz believes there's one man who can make the House of Representatives great again. That's what the Panhandle Republican said yesterday when he nominated Donald Trump to be Speaker of the House. He cited Trump's record on prison reform, veterans issues, trade and foreign policy. Gaetz adds naming California Congressman Kevin McCarthy as speaker would be business as usual. Gaetz was the only one to vote for Trump, though. The former president has urged Republicans to vote for McCarthy. Voting will continue today.

(Tampa, FL)-- At least one elected official in Tampa is offended by questions some police officers are asking. The Tampa Police Benevolent Association has sent a survey to political candidates to determine who the PBA will endorse in the upcoming municipal elections. Some questions, though, ask if the candidate has ever participated in a Black Lives Matter rally, criticized police or spoken out against police brutality. City Councilman Orlando Gudes [[goo-dis]] took offense at that question and others, and he said yesterday he hopes the PBA will apologize. The PBA president tells ABC Action News they value candor and honesty.
