Each day Bill records a MICKnugget, a one-minute take on some issue that got his attention that morning. Below are the scripts for last week’s NUGGETS.

12.27.22- Ride, Andrew, Ride
Saving horses by riding cowboys won’t keep former Tallahassee mayor and gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum from facing justice.
A federal judge last week ruled that Gillum will go trial charged with conspiracy, wire fraud and making false statements to the FBI.
It stems from his time as mayor and as the Democratic candidate for governor. Gillum had solicited monies from FBI agents posing as developers in exchange for favorable treatment in Tallahassee projects.
Gillum claimed the charges were politically motivated and racist. The judge rejected those contentions.
Had they been politically motivated, would they not have been best filed during his run for governor? Of course they would have.
No, Gillum, who apparently had the opportunity to plead guilty and cooperate, chose to play the victim.
It’s the people of Florida who were the victims and now it seems Andrew Gillum will face the consequences.
12.28.22- Being Annoyed!
It was an interesting WIDE OPEN WEDNESDAY. It all began with a Fox News story about the most annoying people in 2022.
It was an accurate, fun and funny list. It also inspired me to think of the most annoying things in Brevard in 2022.
It could be anything from people (including politicians), places or things. The list got extensive.
From elected officials to political organizations to activists on social issues, it was a huge group.
Then there were traffic issues and FDOT. 35 mph on A1A and flashy light mid-block crosswalks. Speeding crotch rocket drivers darting in and out of traffic and slow movers in the fast lane of I-95 made the list.
Drag Queens made the list with a story about a Drag Queen Christmas that the state is investigating.
Thursday, we take on what we appreciated in 2022…I hope that list is just as large!
12.29.22- See Ya Next Year
Over the last couple of days, we talked about the annoying and the appreciated of 2022. As the year draws to a close, I hope you found more to appreciate than those things that troubled you.
A new year brings new hope and chance to make life better, to make us better.
Oh, we’ll have challenges, for sure. But we are also capable of facing those challenges and we don’t face them alone.
Family, friends and faith all there for support. We don’t stand alone.
As we launch the new year, let’s all find those things that lift us up, refresh and reenergize us and have us looking forward to the future, whatever it holds, with optimism.
It's easy to see the things we don’t like or challenges we face. Let’s make an effort to appreciate the good in life, whatever the circumstances and make 2023 the best it, and we, can be.
