…EFSC’s Chris Muro- state races and amendments
Forget flying the friendly skies! Illegal immigrants can now fly the sanctuary skies to wonderful locations like Washington, DC, Chicago and Martha’s Vineyard! Floridians can feel good that their government is helping those illegals to locations that welcome them and see no problem with the country’s porous border. It’s funny that those sanctuary destinations are now whining that aiding those travelers to their doorstep is somehow cruel. Could it be that their support for illegal entry to the country is contingent on their domains not being on the itinerary?
Governor DeSantis has been criticized for the Martha’s Vineyard destination. The vineyard is a “sanctuary city,” at least in name, if not practice. Well, they have some practice now. Among the governor’s critics are President Biden and CA Governor Gavin Newsom, who has a unique take on how this should be handled.
DeSantis, no wallflower at all, has a response to the critics and it’s a good one.
Should this policy continue? The legislature dedicated $12m to the project, so the money is there.
We’ll begin our General Election coverage in today’s 8am hour as Chris Muro, political science professor at EFSC, joins us to discuss statewide races and the three constitutional amendments on the ballot. If we have a chance we’ll also explore Florida’s electorate and its leanings.
