DOJ Reviews Potentially Privileged Trump Documents

(Washington, DC) -- FBI agents are looking through classified documents that were recently taken from former President Trump's Mar-a-Lago home. The Justice Department says it used a filter team to review materials that could have fallen under attorney-client privileged information. Agents are continuing to follow the procedures listed in the search warrant signed earlier this month. A decision is expected this week by a Florida federal judge on a motion filed by Trump to appoint a special master to oversee part of the case.

Florida Tourism Rises Following Pandemic

(Tallahassee, FL) -- Florida tourism is experiencing a post-pandemic rise. Data published by Visit Florida shows last year the state saw 43-million more visitors compared to the year prior. That's a nearly 56-percent boost. Tourism is one of the state's biggest industries. The current fiscal year is still underway, but data shows the first half of the year has already seen a 20-percent increase compared to the same time last year.

Seminole County GOP Office Vandalized

(Casselberry, FL)-- The Seminole County GOP is dealing with what it calls a hate crime. Casselberry Police say a message was found spray-painted on the window of the building on SR 436 yesterday. The Seminole County GOP writes on Facebook that this is the result of hate speech by President Biden and Charlie Crist. They cite Biden's comment last week that some Republicans are like semi-fascists. The graffiti has since been removed. No arrest has been announced, and no one has claimed responsibility.

Trial Begins For Seminole County GOP Chairman

(Tallahassee, FL)-- The head of the Republican party in Seminole County is on trial for allegedly interfering in an election two years ago. Seminole County GOP Chairman and Longwood Mayor Ben Paris was in court yesterday for his role in the 2020 District 9 state senate race. Paris is accused of recruiting a ghost candidate to run to take votes away from a Democrat running against Republican Jason Brodeur. Brodeur won the race, and he says he knew nothing of Paris' alleged involvement. Jury selection began yesterday, and testimony is set to begin tomorrow.

Brevard County Businesses React To Mission Scrub

(Titusville, FL)-- Not everyone on the Space Coast is disappointed that the Artemis One launch was scrubbed. Businesses that were seeing more customers over the weekend may see another boost leading up to Friday. That's when NASA plans to make another launch attempt. C's Waffles on Broad Street in Titusville opened early yesterday, and manager Jessie Costa estimates business may have been triple what they typically get on a Monday morning. Costa also tells News 6 they're happy about the postponed launch because it means they get another day.

Mother And Son Arrested In Okaloosa County

(Crestview, FL)-- A mother and son are facing charges in Okaloosa County. The sheriff's office says the two were arrested yesterday morning after an attempted traffic stop in Crestview near Highway 85. Venetia Berry allegedly refused to pull over, drove to her home on Cosson Circle and took off on foot. Deputies caught up to the 62-year-old and were arresting her when her 38-year-old son approached and allegedly got aggressive with them. He was also arrested and charged with resisting with violence. Berry is facing charges that include felony fleeing and eluding.

Miami-Dade Jewelry Store Owner Offers Reward After Theft

(Miami, FL)-- A reward is available to anyone who can help catch some jewel thieves in Miami-Dade County. Ashley Jewelry on Northeast 55th Street was robbed last week.  Owner Jorge Fernandez says surveillance video shows three masked men breaking into a safe and stealing about 300-thousand dollars worth of goods, including diamonds. He's offering a reward of between five and ten thousand dollars. Fernandez tells NBC 6 he thinks this was done by someone who knows him or who knows a friend of his.

Marlins Catcher Sets MLB Record

(Miami, FL)-- Miami Marlins catcher Jacob Stallings now owns a Major League Baseball record. Stallings yesterday had his 225th straight game without a passed ball. That breaks the record that was held by Hall of Famer Johnny Bench. Stallings calls the record pretty cool. The Marlins lost, though, 3-2, in 10 innings, to the LA Dodgers at loanDepot Park.
