The primary Election is all but done and we’re off to the November 8th General Election. Just over 27% of eligible Brevard voters turned out. You can see Brevard election results here.
While one seat remains undecided, the Brevard School Board will see a big philosophical shift. Chairman Misty Belford was ousted in strong fashion in a Moms for Liberty and Ron DeSantis backed campaign. Katye Campbell held her D-5 seat in a strong showing and Gene Trent will go to the November runoff with a strong likelihood of pulling off the win in D-2. If that plays out, there will be 3 strong votes for parental rights and Matt Susin, a registered Republican, making an overwhelming majority on the board.
Prime Time Charlie handily defeated Nikki Fried to face off with Governor Ron DeSantis in November. Brevard County Commission seats are settled. Volusia and Indian River Counties controlled the two Republican House nominations. One judicial race was close and the others went to incumbents.
With all of the campaign ads over for now, we’ll open our day with a look at messaging with a twist. I’d like to see it catch on!
I’m election focused today. You can focus wherever you’d like. It’s WIDE OPEN WEDNESDAY on BML. What’s on your mind?
