Report: Governor DeSantis Is Largest Governor Candidate Fundraiser

(Undated) -- A new report finds that Governor Ron DeSantis has raised more funds for his re-election than any other current governor candidate in the country. The report from Open Secrets says as of August 18th DeSantis has nearly 170-million dollars in his campaign coffers from his donors. He is approaching the highest fund raiser for Governor who was Meg Whitman when she raised 170-million dollars in her failed bid to become Governor of California in 2010.Most of her funding came from her own pocket.

UCF Analyst Looks At Governor's Race

(Orlando, FL)-- Money could be the deciding factor in the governor's race. UCF political analyst Dr. Jim Clark said yesterday Charlie Crist has outspent Nikki Fried in the Democratic primary, and that could be the difference in a state that's very hard to gain traction in.Whoever wins on Tuesday will have an uphill fight against Governor Ron DeSantis, though. Clark tells News 6 even though Crist has outspent Fried, he doesn't have a lot compared to DeSantis, who has set a fundraising record for a governor's race. 

DeSantis Admin Plans To Send Illegal Immigrants To Delaware

(Miami, FL)-- The DeSantis Administration plans to send illegal immigrants to Delaware. Yesterday, WPLG said Lieutenant Governor Jeannette Núñez made the statement during a Spanish language radio interview with a Miami station. Yesterday, DeSantis campaign spokesperson Christina Pushaw clarified that Cuban immigrants who arrive legally would not be included. Pushaw noted that a Cuban who makes it to Miami to get away from "communist oppression" is a legal refugee saying also that, "This isn't hard to understand."

Plane Crashes On Busy Orlando Street

(Orlando, FL)-- A small plane crashed on a busy Orlando street. The Florida Highway Patrol says the plane came down Friday afternoon on University Boulevard. Preliminary investigation results suggest the plane experienced a mechanical failure that caused it to plummet to the ground. The FHP says the pilot suffered minor injuries. There are no other reports of injuries.

Mom, Teen Son Face Fraud, ID Theft Charges

(De Land, FL)-- A mom and her teen son face fraud and ID theft charges. A Volusia County Sheriff's office Facebook post on Friday said the 14-year old Deltona High Schooler is facing several charges including 15-counts of identity theft, illegal use of credit cards and obtaining property by fraud. His mother, 38-year old Selena Wallace faces principal charges on each of her son's counts for aiding and abetting him along with charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The investigation is still underway with the possibility of more criminal charges.

Four Hurt In Volusia County Explosion

(Daytona Beach, FL)-- Four people are hurt after a boat exploded in Volusia County. The Daytona Beach Fire Department says it happened yesterday afternoon at the Halifax Harbor Marina. Three of those hurt received treatment at the scene and didn't go to the hospital. Another victim, though, was flown to the hospital to be treated for burns. There's no word on what caused the explosion or the cost of damages to the boat. 

Sean Connery's "James Bond" Car Sells For $2.4 Million

(Monterey, CA)-- Sean Connery's "James Bond" car bought in a whopping two-point-four-million dollars at auction last week. The silver 1964 Aston Martin DB5 was driven in the 1960s James Bond films when Connery played the famous secret agent. The cars used in the films came complete with gadgets like machine guns and an ejector seat. The one Connery purchased for himself in 2018 was standard issue. Auction company Broad Arrow expected it to bring in between one-point-four and one-point-eight-million, so the final price tag came as a bit of a surprise when the unnamed buyer walked away with the winning bid. DB5s directly connected to the James Bond films have sold for much more. A gadget-filled model brought in six-point-four-million in 2019.
