State Board To Consider Blocking Treatments For Transgender Youth

(Tallahassee, FL) -- Discussions are scheduled this week in South Florida on a potential treatment ban for transgender youth. The Florida Board of Medicine will consider a proposal to prohibit doctors from providing treatments, like hormone therapy or puberty-blocking medications, to patients under the age of 18 years old. The state Department of Health filed a petition last week asking the board to move the process forward. The public will be able to speak at this Friday's meeting in Broward County.

Schools Confused By DeSantis Law

(Undated) -- Florida schools are confused following new rules introduced by Governor Ron DeSantis.The governor has recently signed bills that restrict discussion of gender identity in the classroom, and teachers are scrambling before school starts to make sure they do not break the rules. The vagueness of these laws has teachers rewriting lesson plans and trying to understand if the content of each book is now considered legal or illegal by the state.

Uhuru Movement Leader Defends Ties To Russian Agent

(St. Petersburg, FL)-- A political group in St. Petersburg is continuing to defend its ties to Russian intelligence. The Uhuru [[ oo-HOO-roo ]] Movement has been accused of working with a Russian agent who is spreading disinformation and meddling in local elections. The agent is alleged to be working with three groups across the country including the one in St. Pete. A leader with the movement spoke on Friday about the investigation and defended their ties to Russia. The group believes the U.S. government is trying to attack the organization to discredit the Black power movement and the leader also said they support Russia's invasion in Ukraine.

90% Of Skeleton Found In Flagler County

(Palm Coast, FL)-- The search for human remains in Flagler County is over. Deputies say they found 90-percent of a human skeleton and ended their excavation on Saturday. The investigation started July 18th when bones were found at a construction site at the Toscana Development in Palm Coast. Sheriff Rick Staly says the remains could be connected to missing persons cases in the area. The medical examiner is trying to identify a cause of death.

Duval County Starbucks Closes During Worker Strike

(Jacksonville, FL)-- Workers at a Jacksonville Starbucks are on strike over minimum wage. The store, located on Ricky Drive, was closed for hours yesterday as unionized employees protested. They claim the company is delaying a 15-dollar minimum wage increase without an explanation. At the same time, workers at non-unionized locations will get the pay hike starting today. Starbucks has not released a statement related to the situation.

Man Disappears After Storm Drain Appearance

(Pinellas Park, FL)-- A man is unaccounted for after being seen in a storm drain. First responders spent hours looking for the man on Monday after workers in Pinellas Park opened a manhole cover to see a man underneath. He asked the workers for a drink but then disappeared after they gave him a Mountain Dew.Officials searched for hours but never found the man who they believe may have walked out the other end of the drain.

Polish Museum Asks Visitors To Stop Having Sex On Grounds

(Poland) -- The saying goes make love, not war. But one military museum in Poland is asking visitors to keep their urges under control on site. Fort Gerhard, close to the border with Germany in northwestern Poland, says several pairs of lovers have been caught in the act this summer on its new security system. Cases of couples having sex in Fort Gerhard are so common that an intervention was necessary, according to the museum director. They say they've already had three recordings of lovers getting frisky in the last month.Some believe the area may have a chakra radiating spiritual energy, however, having sex in a public place is illegal in Poland.
