Games make an easy analogy for many things in our world: news, politics, comedy, war, finance, traffic and sport (actual games we play). We have examples of each available to us for today’s conversation.
On the sporting front, knowing when to quit would be a good idea. Law Enforcement is certainly not a game. Relating to each other can certainly be a game, but slipping the bounds of reality is a dangerous one. Stifling speech, especially that which causes us to stop and think, is a stupid game. Education and party affiliation are pawns in the political game. So are lies.Cryptocurrency is a financial game that many don’t understand and that includes Canada’s courts.
War is certainly not a game, but nations stage war games all the time. Sometimes they turn into real war. Dave Bowman is with us in our 8am hour to look at borders, nations and the idea that none of this is new. We call it Dave Does History.
