(Sanford, FL) -- A fire official in Seminole County is saddened by the actions of one of his men. That's what Sanford Fire Chief Craig Radzak said yesterday after firefighter Andrew Williams was arrested for his alleged role in the Capitol Hill violence. Williams is now on unpaid leave pending an investigation. Radzak says Williams' actions tarnished the hard work and dedication of the rest of the department.

Tallahassee Bracing For Protests
(Tallahassee, FL) -- A warning is going out to those who work at the state Capitol. The FBI says armed protests are planned for Tallahassee Sunday and all other state capitols ahead of Joe Biden's inauguration. Senate President Wilton Simpson is asking state workers to stay home Sunday out of an abundance of caution. An emergency management official says Tallahassee is prepared, and Governor Ron DeSantis said yesterday action will be taken very quickly if anything is disorderly.
Steube Reintroduces Big Tech Reform Bill
(Washington, DC) -- A Tampa Bay-area lawmaker is behind a bill he says will promote free speech online. Sarasota Republican Congressman Greg Steube yesterday reintroduced the CASE-IT Act to reform Section 230, which protects website publishers from lawsuits over third-party content. Steube's bill would continue to give companies, like Facebook and Twitter, that protection if they adhere to what Steube calls a First Amendment standard. Steube says the bill will ensure that Big Tech will be held accountable for revoking accounts and selectively censoring conservative content on a partisan basis.
DeSantis Reiterates Support For Vaccine Plan
(The Villages, FL) -- Ron DeSantis believes Florida's vaccine plan could be a model for the rest of the country. Governor DeSantis was in The Villages yesterday to discuss his decision to make vaccinating seniors a priority over others, including teachers. DeSantis says CDC guidelines would have prioritized a healthy 20-year-old over a 74-year-old grandparent, and that ignores how the virus has affected the elderly. He also says he expects the federal government to realize Florida's way is the better way and change its recommendation.
SpaceX Dragon Capsule Returning To Earth
(Cape Canaveral, FL) -- The SpaceX Dragon capsule is heading back to Earth with an expected splashdown Wednesday night. The capsule will land in a retrieval zone off the coast of Tampa in the Gulf of Mexico. The unmanned Dragon undocked from the International Space Station on Tuesday. More than five-thousand pounds of science experiments and supplies are onboard the Dragon.
New Hampshire Mom Arrested For Sending Toddler To Daycare Using Lyft
(Manchester, NH) -- A New Hampshire mom is in custody for sending her three-year-old to daycare alone in a Lyft. Responding officers said that 35-year-old Stephanie Goddu barricaded herself in her Manchester home after they were told no one came to pick up her children. Goddu eventually surrendered in a state of incoherence, leading to the discovery of a urine-soaked three-month-old strapped in a car seat. Police learned that her toddler arrived at the daycare building alone in a vehicle. Goddu is now facing charges of endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest.
