Maybe mechanically, but socially and administratively, schools need someone licensed to use the product or they will face idiocy like we see in one story. Why, suddenly, are we worried about straws? And who’s putting them all in the ocean?
Who’s responsible when a computer system tells all users they are making changes and everyone has the same password? Is it the person who hired the snoop or the snoop who now faces jail for the school’s hack? Akin to the cultural appropriation phenomenon we have a popular TV host whose show has been dumped for now because he was accused of misconduct. His denials matter not. Guilty, he is, only by accusation.
