The White House says "emotions are high" after many Democratic lawmakers have protested President Trump's scheduled visits to Dayton and El Paso. Speaking today with reporters, White House spokesman Hogan Gidley said "the president is a president for all people" and he will continue to push for having a conversation about preventing mass shootings. Gidley says the president's comments have been very clear, adding the blame should be put on the person who pulls the trigger.
The President and First Lady will meet with families and first-responders after the deadly mass shootings in Dayton and El Paso. They will first travel to Dayton late tomorrow morning. The trip to El Paso is set for late in the afternoon.
