The Democratic Party is using the recent mass shootings in Dayton and El Paso as a fundraising platform. Former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords made a plea for donations towards all Democrats running for office following the tragic events over the weekend. The Democratic National Committee sent out a request from Giffords, seeking donations ranging from ten to 200 dollars, to be split between the DNC and Giffords' political action committee. The email says donations will help "prevent gun violence and save lives." The Arizona Democrat was critically injured in a shooting in Tucson in 2011.
