Nominations Announced For Attorney General, UN Ambassador

Heather Nauert

President Trump is filling two key posts.  At the White House today, Trump said he plans to nominate Bill Barr as attorney general and Heather Nauert as U.S. ambassador to the UN. Trump called Barr highly respected and said he is a terrific man.  He stressed that Nauert is doing a great job as chief spokesperson for the State Department.  Nauert is a former Fox News host.  Barr was attorney general during the administration of President George H.W. Bush.

Barr would replace Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who was forced out after November's midterm elections.  Nauert would replace U.S.-UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, who announced that she will leave the post at year's end.  Both jobs require Senate confirmation.
