JetBlue says passengers flying out of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport will soon have more destinations and more flight options as the airline rolls out its largest schedule ever at the airport.
The airline announced plans to launch 11 new nonstop routes from Fort Lauderdale, while also boosting flight frequency on several popular existing routes. JetBlue says the expansion is aimed at giving South Florida travelers more flexibility and connectivity, especially following Spirit Airlines’ recent shutdown.
New destinations include Baltimore, Charlotte, Columbus, Indianapolis, and Nashville, along with several international additions such as Barranquilla and Cali, Colombia, and Ponce, Puerto Rico. Most of the new flights are scheduled to begin between July and November.
JetBlue will also add more daily flights on high-demand routes from Fort Lauderdale, including Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth, Raleigh-Durham, Santo Domingo, and Santiago de los Caballeros.
The airline says the expansion will bring nearly 130 daily departures from Fort Lauderdale this summer — its largest operation ever at the airport and a significant increase compared to last year.
“We’re stepping up for Fort Lauderdale to ensure air service remains strong in this market,” said JetBlue President Marty St. George. “Our goal is to make it easier for customers to stay connected while continuing to offer the service and value JetBlue is known for.”
As part of the expansion, JetBlue is also introducing a limited-time loyalty status match for former Spirit Airlines customers. Eligible Free Spirit Silver and Gold members can transfer their status to JetBlue’s TrueBlue Mosaic program, allowing them to maintain perks such as priority boarding, upgrades, and other benefits.
JetBlue officials say the move is designed to ease the transition for travelers who relied on Spirit and are now looking for alternative options, particularly in Fort Lauderdale, where JetBlue is already the airport’s largest carrier.
Flights under the expanded schedule are now available for booking on JetBlue’s website and mobile app.
