The Jupiter Police Department announces a new police chief.

Don Hennessy will be sworn in on January 22nd.

He's been with the department for 23 years, and serving as interim chief since October. That's when former Chief Michael Barbera retired after one year at the helm.

A statement from Town Manager Frank Kitzerow, a former Jupiter and School District Police Chief, says that Hennessy brings extensive experience, steady leadership, and a deep understanding of the Jupiter community to this role."
