Fort Pierce Police are investigating after a live grenade was discovered at a Goodwill thrift store.

Officers responded to the Sabal Palm Plaza on a "suspicious object" call Saturday afternoon. The grenade was mixed in with a batch of recent donations.

The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Bomb Disposal Unit was called out. They confirmed it was a real grenade before safely removing it.

The origins of the grenade are unknown but police don't believe the incident was intentional.
