Polk County, FL - A 51-year-old man was arrested in Polk County after allegedly attempting to smuggle a thermos into the county jail by concealing it internally.
According to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, deputies initially responded to a call about a naked man inside a public park restroom.
When officers arrived, the man was fully clothed.
Deputies issued him a trespass warning and allowed him to leave the park without arrest.
Shortly after, the suspect allegedly crossed the street and trespassed on railroad tracks, which led deputies to arrest him.
He was charged with trespassing and possession of methamphetamine.

The suspect has a lengthy criminal history, including 25 prior arrests and five previous terms in state prison.
During booking, deputies conducted a routine body scan.
Sheriff Judd reported that the scan revealed the suspect had a thermos inserted internally for approximately 24 hours.
Medical personnel were called to safely remove the object, and the suspect was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Sheriff Judd noted that the deputy’s actions helped prevent a potential medical emergency.
The suspect allegedly threatened the arresting deputy during the incident.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that the charges currently filed against him include trespassing and possession of methamphetamine, and additional charges related to the smuggling attempt have not been released.
