Sarasota County, FL - A truck overturned on southbound Interstate 75 in Sarasota County on Wednesday morning, causing major traffic delays and blocking multiple lanes.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 10:25 a.m. near mile marker 179.

Authorities reported that the truck was traveling southbound while towing a trailer when its right rear tire allegedly blew out.

The tire failure caused the truck to swerve into the left lane, where it collided with a semi-truck traveling in that lane.

The impact caused the truck to overturn onto its left side, obstructing both the inside and center lanes.

The semi-truck remained upright and came to a stop on the left shoulder.

The driver of the overturned truck sustained minor injuries and received treatment at the scene.

The semi-truck driver was uninjured.

Emergency responders, including FHP personnel, worked to clear the wreckage and restore traffic flow.

All southbound lanes near the crash site were closed for several hours, resulting in significant backups.

Photos from the scene indicated that the overturned truck belonged to a landscaping company.

Authorities confirmed that the trailer being towed by the truck remained upright and did not contribute to the blockage.

Officials are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the tire failure and the resulting collision.

No additional information about the truck driver, the semi-truck driver, or the companies involved has been released.
