Spring Break & St. Patrick's Day Celebrations Collide This Weekend

Local restaurants and bars are going to be seeing "green" this weekend with people celebrating spring break and St. Patrick's Day.

"In Florida, a little over 3,000 people are killed every single year in vehicle crashes, and about a third of those are related to impairment, and the month of March has always been one of the deadliest months in the state," says Mothers Against Drunk Driving Florida Regional Executive Director Larry Coggins.

He adds, traditionally Friday night into early Saturday morning and Saturday night into Sunday morning are the most dangerous, but in Florida - because of traffic - all times need to be considered dangerous.

The top tip MADD gives is designate a driver who won't be drinking at all, and if you're hosting a party this weekend, take the keys from anyone drinking.

If you do drink too much and don't have a safe alternative, Triple-A's Tow to Go fires up tonight through Tuesday morning.

You can get a free tow to safety by calling 855-Tow-2-Go.
