Fort Pierce city leaders are holding an emergency meeting with residents this afternoon to address the arrest of the city manager.
51-year old Nicholas Mimms is accused of rigging a bid to favor a nonprofit with close ties to his family.
A two-year investigation turned up evidence that Mimms used his authority to force the leasing of two vacant downtown lots to the Lincoln Park Young Professionals. It's co-run by his niece.
The FDLE says there may be more arrests.
Mimms, a Fort Pierce native who has been city manager since 2015, is charged with bid tampering and and misconduct.
