Fort Lauderdale, FL - A Fort Lauderdale man has been arrested on charges of attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a woman 15 times over accusations of infidelity.
According to authorities, the assault occurred on March 12th when a female victim picked up 49-year-old Ronald Wilkey in her car.
After entering the vehicle, Wilkey reportedly accused the woman of infidelity and attacked her with a dagger-like knife.
The arrest report details that Wilkey allegedly stabbed the woman 15 times in the face, neck, arms, and legs.
The victim was transported to Broward Health Medical Center for treatment.
While the victim's current condition remains undisclosed, officials confirmed that she did survive the attack.
Following the assault, Wilkey allegedly fled the scene and removed his ankle monitor.
He was apprehended by Broward Sheriff's Office VIPER detectives on Monday afternoon.
Reports indicate Wilkey was taken to Holy Cross Hospital for a medical evaluation before being brought in for questioning at the Broward Sheriff's Office Public Safety Building.
While details of Wilkey's confession haven't been publicly released, authorities confirm he did admit to the crime.
As of Friday afternoon, Wilkey was being held without bond at the Broward County Main Jail.
