Florida's governor is deploying troops to South Florida and the Keys to prevent mass migration from Haiti during the gang takeover of the island nation.
State Representative and Haitian native Berny Jacques says the governor needed to act because the federal government did not.
Jacques says the state wants to help the suffering Haitians but must also prevent violent gang members from accessing our shores.
Rep. Jacques agrees with the governor's response which includes:
- The Florida Department of Law Enforcement: 39 additional officers.
- The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission: 23 additional officers with eight additional seacraft.
- The Florida National Guard: 48 additional Guardsmen with four additional helicopters.
- The Florida Highway Patrol: 30 additional officers with an additional aircraft and drones for surveillance.
Rep. Jacques says Floridians must be protected from mass migration and the violent gangs who are committing horrible, sadistic crimes including cannibalism.
