Fort Myers, FL - A man has been arrested for stealing a 3-and-a-half-foot Snoop Dogg bobblehead from a Southwest Florida restaurant.
Rocco John Benedetto, 50, has been apprehended for pilfering a cherished 3.5-foot Snoop Dogg bobblehead from the lobby of a south Fort Myers restaurant on Monday night.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office confirmed Benedetto's custody after he voluntarily returned the statue to Cantina Laredo restaurant, prompted by widespread news coverage dubbing him the 'Dogg-Napper.'
Surveillance footage captured the daring theft at Cantina Laredo, located at Big Pine Way in the Villas.
Upon realizing the story had gone viral, detectives advised Benedetto to surrender the $1,250 bobblehead to LCSO headquarters.
However, he opted to return it directly to the restaurant.
Joy Duda, the general manager of Cantina Laredo, expressed the restaurant's intention to press charges against the self-proclaimed bobblehead bandit.
Benedetto now faces a charge of grand theft of less than $5K and is currently booked at the Lee County Jail.
