Man Arrested for Alleged Animal Cruelty in Sweetwater Apart, emt

Sweetwater, FL - A 20-year-old man was arrested for abusing a Siberian Husky inside of his Florida apartment.

Jordi Ray Bermudez, a 20-year-old resident of The One at University City apartments in Sweetwater, was arrested on Wednesday following a disturbing report of ongoing animal cruelty.

Authorities were alerted by a concerned neighbor who claimed Bermudez had been physically abusing his white Siberian husky for several months.

Upon responding to a 911 call around 9 p.m., Sweetwater police officers gathered evidence from multiple witnesses and video recordings provided by the neighbor.

These recordings purportedly captured the distressing sounds of the dog "screaming and yelping" as Bermudez allegedly subjected the animal to repeated punches.

The arresting officer noted that other residents corroborated the neighbor's account, attesting to regularly hearing the dog's distress calls and suspecting Bermudez's involvement.

Based on the evidence and testimonies gathered, Bermudez was charged with animal cruelty with the intent to injure or kill.

Following his arrest, Bermudez was released from Miami-Dade jail on bond.
