Palm Bay, FL - A 45-year-old Palm Bay woman was arrested after she allegedly stabbed her husband multiple times when he expressed his desire for a divorce.
The incident occurred at a residence on Avens Road NE in Palm Bay, prompting police intervention on Thursday around 10:41 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim who'd sustained multiple lacerations to his back, side and left arm.
A witness reported that the victim approached their residence after an altercation and collapsed at their front door due to his injuries.
The victim told police that he informed his wife, identified as Toni Strickland, of his desire for a divorce, leading to a heated verbal exchange.
Attempting to distance himself from the situation, the victim retreated to a spare bedroom to gather his belongings.
As the victim attempted to exit the home, he began to feel weak and discovered he'd been stabbed.
Strickland told investigators that she grabbed a knife for self-defense but denied stabbing her husband.
Police discovered a blood-stained butcher-style knife in the kitchen, leading to Strickland's arrest on charges of aggravated domestic battery.
She was transported to the Brevard County jail.
