A cold case was just solved in the sexual assault and murder of a Broward County woman, 41-year-old Eileen Truppner, found in a grassy area in 1998.
Sheriff Gregory Tony says DNA evidence led to the arrest of 64-year-old Lucious Boyd who's already on death row for the murder and rape of another woman that year.
He says Boyd may have killed more than ten victims.
Truppner was finally identified on May 4, 2023, through genetic genealogy.
This marks the twenty-first cold case solved by the BSO department.
