Firefighter Arrested in Florida Keys for Hotel Rampage and Officer Threats

Key West, FL - An Orlando firefighter is facing multiple felony charges after trashing a Florida Keys hotel room and threatening responding officers.

The incident occurred at the Fairfield Inn & Suites, where officers responded to a domestic argument between 37-year-old Daniel Edward Allis and his wife around 12:45 a.m.

Police allege that Allis caused significant damage to the hotel room and physically resisted and threatened officers on the scene.

According to the arrest report, Allis was heavily intoxicated and was found breaking a window when officers arrived.

The hotel room was described as "trashed," with shattered glass from broken picture frames and smashed wine bottles, resulting in over $1,000 in damages during a 30-minute drunken rampage.

Police encountered resistance as they attempted to question Allis, as he reportedly spit on the arresting officer and continued to be violent at the jail facility.

Records indicate that Allis faces two felony extortion charges, a felony criminal mischief charge, a felony charge of resisting an officer with violence, and a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge.

He was held at the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office jail facility in Key West with a $31,000 bond.

The Orlando Fire Department was notified of Allis' arrest.

A spokesperson stated that, in accordance with their policy, the case would undergo the appropriate legal process, with disciplinary action contingent on the outcome.
