Clermont, FL - A man was arrested last week after he allegedly grabbed a child at a Florida splash pad while in possession of illegal narcotics.
On Friday, Clermont police arrested 27-year-old Henry Therrien at the Waterfront Park Splash Pad following reports of Therrien's "unusual behavior."
According to police, officers were dispatched to the park at approximately 11:20 a.m. in response to the incident.
A park ranger informed officers that Therrien had grabbed the arms of a child at the Splash Pad.
Park visitors intervened and managed to restrain Therrien until law enforcement arrived and took him into custody.
During his arrest, police discovered that Therrien was in possession of illegal narcotics.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
Police say there's no evidence to suggest that Therrien attempted to abduct the child.
Therrien was taken into custody on charges of battery and illicit drug possession.
He is being held without bond pending further legal proceedings.
