Monroe County, FL - A South Florida sheriff's deputy that was arrested for DUI after being found asleep in his vehicle has been placed on administrative leave without pay.
According to Adam Linhardt, a spokesperson for the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Jonathon Michael Lane was taken into custody after he was found in a state of slumber behind the wheel of his personal vehicle.
The incident unfolded at a gas station in Ramrod Key during the early hours of Saturday morning.
The arrest was made while Deputy Lane was off-duty.
Sheriff Rick Ramsay addressed the incident in a news release, stating the sheriff's office "will investigate this fully and take appropriate action."
Following his arrest, Deputy Lane was placed on administrative leave without pay, pending an internal investigation by the MCSO's Internal Affairs division.
