Mexican Telenovela Star Andrés García Dies

A star of Mexican telenovelas has died. Andrés García was a Dominican who emigrated to Mexico with his family, and starred in over 50 Mexican films and telenovelas from 1967 to 2007. In September 2003, García made one of his several appearances on Cristina, the Hialeah recorded, Spanish-language talk show hosted by Cristina Saralegui, to defend entertainers against paparazzi

García died Tuesday at age 81 after a year-long battle with liver disease. His wife Margarita Portillo said on Instagram Tuesday that "he left in peace." He is survived by his wife and three children.
