UPDATE: Some evacuations lifted in Panama City Wildfires

(PANAMA CITY, FL) -- Some people affected by the wildfires in the Panhandle are getting to go home.

The state has lifted evacuation orders for the Adkins Avenue fire, which has kept people out of their homes since Friday.

Evacuation orders for the Bertha Swamp fire remain in effect. Veterans at a nursing home were able to return after firefighters corralled the Star Avenue fire.

The state of emergency has been expanded to include Calhoun and Gulf counties in addition to Bay County.

Waller Elementary is the only Bay County school that will be closed Tuesday.
