Florida man randomly attacks man, steals his shoe in Walmart parking lot

A Florida man was arrested on charges of burglary, aggravated battery and petit theft after allegedly attacking an elderly man and stealing his shoe.

Carlton Gray was arrested on Saturday in Lehigh Acres after officers say he attacked and stole the shoe of the 70-year-old victim.

According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, around 10:40 a.m. Saturday, Gray approached the victim as he was sitting in his car waiting on an oil change in a Walmart parking lot.

Gray punched the man in his chest before repeatedly closing the car door on the victim's foot.

During the altercation, the victim lost his shoe, which Gray picked up and took before running off.

Gray was eventually located and taken into custody on charges of burglary, aggravated battery, and petit theft.

Investigators say the victim was left with chest pains and bruises, but no major injuries.

The shoe was worth an estimated $500 due to special inserts.

Detectives say Gary could be the same suspect involved in a separate attack on a 40-year-old woman at a Dollar Store on Lee Boulevard.
