If you have onions in the house and you don't know where they're from, throw them out.

That's the word from the CDC, which is warning about red, white and yellow onions imported from Mexico that are linked to a growing salmonella outbreak.

More than 650 people have gotten sick in 37 states, including Florida. The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention notes that 14 or fewer cases of illness have been reported in our state.

The onions were sold to restaurants and at grocery stores throughout the country. They were distributed by ProSource Inc, which is based in Idaho.
