DESTIN -- With workers going back to the office as companies lift restrictions, some are finding themselves having to arrange care for older parents again.

Adult children of aging parents in Florida find themselves having to make caregiver arrangements as there's a shortage of workers in the field.

Dale Dalbey, who owns a Synergy Home Care franchise in Destin (in the Panhandle) says last year's pandemic response caused business to go away, as many feared having strangers in their homes. Now, many of those caregivers who lost their jobs are doing other kinds of work.

Dalbey says families should plan ahead. Local councils on aging can provide advice.
