The annual gathering known as CPAC, the Conservative Political Action Conference, gets underway in Orlando on Thursday at the Hyatt Regency.
Former President Donald Trump will wrap up the hob nob with a speech on Sunday afternoon.
Ian Walters of the American Conservative Union says it remains to be seen what role the former president will have in the Republican Party moving forward.
"He still serves as a tremendously powerful force in Republican politics, there's no doubt about it," Walter said. "The idea is, is he looking to be a candidate, or is he going to be a king maker?"
One Republican leader that won't make an appearance at the conference is the former vice president. Is there animosity between Trump and Mike Pence? Walters says that's not what he's heard.
"Its sounds like they've talked several times since Trump left the White House and a lot of that I think is the media trying to draw up a soap opera, cause a little drama where there isn't any drama."
Trump's speech Sunday will mark his first public appearance since leaving the White House.
Floridians scheduled to appear at CPAC include Governor Ron DeSantis, Senator Rick Scott, Congressman Matt Gaetz and former AG Pam Bondi.
