The Florida Senate has voted 25-15 to permanently remove Scott Israel as Broward Sheriff. Governor Ron DeSantis suspended Israel back in January citing incompetence for the BSO response to the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and the attack at Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport.
Despite today's decision, Israel says he will run for Broward Sheriff in 2020.
