NHC Forecasters Watch Tropical Storm Lorenzo & 2 Other Named Storms

Hurricane Season Sign With Stormy Background

A tropical depression that formed over the weekend off the coast of Africa is now Tropical Storm Lorenzo.

National Hurricane Center forecasters are watching the storm which is expected to strengthen into a hurricane later this week.

It's moving west and expected to take a more northwesterly movement in a few days.

They're also keeping an eye on Tropical Storm Karen, which is expected to approach Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands tomorrow as a weak tropical storm. Karen could wind up affecting Florida sometime next week, though it's too early to know for sure.

Tropical Storm Jerry continues to churn in the open Atlantic and is forecast to curve out to the east later this week.

There is a tropical storm warning in effect for Bermuda.
