BSO Purchases 8,000 Bleed Control Kits For Broward Schools

The Broward Sheriff's Office is hoping to save lives if another Parkland attack or mass tragedy takes place in school.

The department is delivering more than 8,000 bleeding control kits.

The plan is it have at least two-wall mounted stations - each containing eight kits - on each campus.

The majority have been purchased through the Coach Aaron Feis Guardian grant program.

The plan is to purchase 6,000 more kits later this year.

The sheriff says many victims die during active shooting incidents because of excessive bleeding.

Each station costs $599.98 and has the capacity to treat at least 12 victims.
